I've never been able to warm to St. Paul, but Peter! My profane and passionate friend, I call him the patron saint of f***-ups. I love that scene where a disciple kneels in homage and he tells him, Get up! I'm just a man! How vivid a character he is, and what hope he gives those of us who disappoint God and ourselves.
